Creating a lesson plan for a multimedia is vital rather than just creating your objects without a plan. A lesson plan is critical as it gives us the opportunity structure our ideas and goals for a presentation. This creates for a well thought presentation that will efficiently present the necessary content and will enhance the experience of the audience. Although, doing a spontaneous presentation might provide feedback from the audience afterwards that can be used for future presentations. However, the audience is at a disadvantage as the presentations lacks effort and through, therefore it would be poor experience for the audience and learners. As such, it is critical to construct a lesson plan to enhance a learner’s experience. A lesson plan can be comprised of various elements such as a timeline of the content, objectives and goals, and any other ideas that can enhance a presentation. These elements have the ability to enhance the content that is being presented, therefore learners will experience a well-throughout an organized presentation.
Multiple choice questions embedded in a video may include these multimedia principles:
- Multimedia principle
- A text box that appears over the video with additional information or pictures
- Segmenting principle
- A pause in the for a question that engages the learner by asking a question about information that was just presented
- Feedback principle
- Multiple choice questions provide instant feedback, therefore it enhances the learner’s experience as they can identify the correct and incorrect answers right away.
These principles makes the videos more engaging and interactive. Although there are several more principles that can be applied to H5P videos, these were some principles that applied to my H5P video.
